Call for submissions (CfP1)

Trespass is a new, occasionally published, open access, online journal collecting together papers, conference proceedings, interviews, discussions, letters and other interventions from individual squatters and collectives using squatting to promote social change.

Trespass is self-managed and unfunded. It aims to publish an issue at a rate between every 6 months and one a year. It is multidisciplinary and publishes work in different languages.

Trespass would have two sections, namely theory and interventions:

Theory will publish 5-6 peer-reviewed articles and working papers per issue of between 4,000 and 10,000 words on research topics connected to squatting and housing struggles worldwide. This theoretical section is peer-reviewed. We aim to have one academic peer reviewer and an activist one, although we know that the difference between both is often blurry. Reviewers would be selected for their knowledge of the subject matter, with a diversity of background preferred.

Interventions will be blogposts published under editorial consideration and open to all formats. It focuses on facilitating communication between squatters and activists worldwide. This section will include responses to previous submissions, letters, communiques, pictures, manifestos, news updates and calls for solidarity. We would also welcome practical knowledge such as squatters handbooks and legal advice.
